Ambassador of Ukraine in an exclusive interview with Ghalat News
The war has not hindered Ukraines progress in grain production/Ukraines readiness to interact with Iran in order to grow grains abroad and maintain the food security of both countries
According to the ambassador of Ukraine in Iran, the export of agricultural products from Ukraine to Iran has increased every year, so that according to official statistics, 600 million agricultural products have been exported from Ukraine to Iran in 2021
In an interview with Ghalat News, Bordeliak Sergei stated that due to the consequences of the war between Ukraine and Russia, the export of agricultural products of Ukraine has been affected by problems, and said: despite all the restrictions and despite the crisis of the war, the country of Ukraine succeeded in planting 13.4 million hectares or 95% of the projected cultivated area with seeds. He continued: "Unfortunately, due to the Russian missile attacks, part of our storage facilities have been damaged, and this issue has created problems for us in storing agricultural products and even exporting grains, but at the same time, new harvesting operations are underway in Ukraine." and since August 20, Ukrainian farmers have managed to harvest 23.4 million tons of grain, especially wheat from 3.4 million hectares (91 percent) of the cultivated area, and as a result, 17.4 million tons of wheat have been threshed. Bordeliak Sergei noted: Due to the efforts of the Ukrainian military forces and international efforts, as well as the maximum cooperation of Turkey and the United Nations, we managed to activate three sea routes and three southern ports of Ukraine, Odessa, for the export of grain, but one of the ports of Mykolaiv has problems in terms of infrastructure . Many credible statements and evidence confirm that the Russian invaders have stolen about 650,000 tons of Ukrainian grain so far, yet 33 ships with a capacity of more than 700,000 tons of agricultural products have left our Black Sea ports, and we expect the number of Export ships of Ukrainian agricultural products will increase. The ambassador of Ukraine further stated: Iran and Ukraine can have bilateral cooperation in the field of extraterritorial cultivation in order to create and maintain food security of both countries, and we have proposed this plan for agricultural activities between Iran and Ukraine, and to start cooperation, We are fully prepared. In the end, he pointed out: During my activity in Iran as the ambassador of Ukraine, we proposed a formula for cooperation and interaction with the Iranian government during Dr. Rouhani"s government, based on which, Iran supplies energy to Ukraine and Ukraine supplies Iran"s agricultural and animal husbandry products. Based on this formula, our prediction was that Ukrainian companies would invest in Iran in the field of petrochemicals, and Iranian companies would invest in Ukraine in the field of food and animal husbandry, but unfortunately, due to sanctions, the spread of the corona virus in the world, and the beginning of the war between Ukraine and Russia, the implementation of this formula was postponed, although we still declare our readiness to create this interaction with Iran.
